BJ Hill brings the Truth Basketball Training team to Power 2 Play after spending over twenty years coaching and playing at the college level. The first half of his collegiate coaching career was spent at the junior college level where he helped develop over fifty players for the Division I level. After moving onto DI at the University of Northern Colorado as an assistant, he was named the 3rd youngest head coach in the country in 2011 where he served in that role for six seasons. During his tenure, the program experienced its' first and only Big Sky Conference regular and post-season tournament championships which resulted in the University's first trip to the NCAA Tournament. Hill was named Big Sky Conference and CollegeInsider.com Coach of the Year, Skip Prosser Man of the Year Finalist, and Hugh Durham Award Finalist during his tenure as head coach. During his time at Northern Colorado, five players from the great state of Colorado were named All-Conference at the Division I level. Three years at Northern Colorado his teams finished in the Top 25 in Division I basketball for three point shooting percentage, including #1 in the country in 2012. Coach Hill's favorite part of his collegiate coaching career was mentoring and helping his players with life skills through basketball development. Truth Basketball is built around the idea that in basketball and life that sometimes "You may fall, but you didn't fail. Now get back up!." BJ is the first to acknowledge and own the mistakes that he has made in his coaching career. He works hard to be a positive example for young athletes by being transparent and leading through his experience and coming out the other side to be a success in two other industries since his coaching career ended. BJ looks forward to once again being a resource for players, their families and coaches as they build toward actualizing their goals through Truth Basketball Training at Power 2 Play.

"I have known BJ Hill for almost twenty years and the one constant is his passion for helping others. I met him when he was a juco assistant and followed him to Coach of the Year as a DI coach. When a parent releases a child over to a coach at the college level they expect and hope that the coach would continue the building and development of their child in the best way. Coach Hill did not let me down. I never questioned his commitment to my son and over the years our relationship has continued which for me is a sign of genuine care and love. I would not hesitate to have my sons or daughters under the leadership and influence of Coach Hill."

-Jabril Banks, 2X 1st Team All-Conference, Fort Wayne Mad Ants

He believed in me when not many others did and cared about me enough to show me what it was going to take to be great. I’m forever grateful for the role he played in my life.
